Each evening’s audition schedule is as follows:

Audition Location:
FunSide Productions, 1940 Greeley Avenue, Stillwater, MN 55082. Take Hwy 36 to Greeley Avenue. Turn left on Greeley. Go approximately 2 blocks to the first office building on the left. Go to first door to enter building. Look for paper AUDITION sign on door entrance.

age range for actors , late 20s - 60‘s..
Audition Description/Requirements: Actors must be (dependable) fun characters in real life - with an appreciation and understanding of all Ole and Lena stand for. Must be able to bring to bring the characters out of the joke books and onto the stage - the cartoon cast of characters described below: Must not be afraid to sing!
Male Roles:
- Ole, between the ages of 35 - 60. A stoic self confident, far from bright man who does not have a clue of how to show emotion to his long suffering wife Lena.. Ole is easily irritated by Lena’s friendship with Ingrid, but considers Sven his protégé. Ole has unknown personal issues with Mrs. O.
- Sven, between the ages of 25 - 45. Sven makes rocks look smart. He is in love with Ingrid, but doesn’t know it and is confused by his emotions. Really likes Lena - who really dislikes Sven.
- POSITION FILLED -Gnome/Santa - (For Ole and Lena Christmas only) One actor plays two roles; both characters are important to the production. The Gnome is a middle age happy go lucky, but selfish gnome, who loves his woods more than anything. Santa is a tipsy, silly but somewhat gruff man on a tight schedule - he has a world to cover in one night, after all. Santa has a slight problem - he tends to imbibe at every home he visits - making him a bit mixed up on what his duties are. Actor would preferably be on the short side. Must have great facial expression and comic timing.
- POSITION FILLED The “Big Apple” (For Ole and Lena’s NY Adventure only) 20 - 50 years old. An apple who’s ego is as big as it gets - the Apple knows he is ‘the star’ of NY City. Must wear apple suit and tights. Must be able to sing and be willing to ‘ham it up’.
- Bell Boy, Taxi Driver, Waiter - (For Ole and Lena’s NY Adventure only) One actor plays three roles - each small, but important, bringing the NY experience to the production. Actor plays the part of a New York taxi driver with no tolerance for tourists, a bellboy hoping for a big tip and a snooty waiter at a French restaurant.
Female Roles:
-Lena, between the ages of 35 - 60. Lena loves Ole more than life itself - but can‘t figure out how to get him to give her what she really wants - and that is the feeling of love. She is the smartest of the friends - or so she thinks. Lena is a bit hormonal and goes from hopeful to doubtful and back in blink of an eye.
Ingrid, between the ages of 25 - 45. Ingrid is star struck by Sven and oblivious to Ole’s obvious competition for his buddies’ attention. Ingrid looks up to Lena for guidance and advice, but always misinterprets what she’s told. Think stereotypical blonde.
POSITION FILED:- Mrs. O’Shaughnessy - 40 - 60 A boisterous, braggart of a woman who is grandmotherly in appearance. Mrs. O is a serial widow who has been married so many times even she doesn’t know exactly how many spouses she has had, yet is always on the look out for her next husband.

You will receive an email confirmation confirming your audition time
.Come prepared with a one - two minute comedy monolog, to read from script and well as to sing a song of your choice, acapella. Please bring any known time conflicts.
Call backs - June 12th. First read through June 28. Rehearsals begin first week in October, off book no later than mid October.
Ole and Lena Christmas runs Nov 26 - Dec 30 2010 - mainly weekend nights - with a few weeknights and Sunday afternoon matinees in December. 20 performances scheduled.
Ole and Lena’s NY Adventure: Opening January 14 - Feb 26, 2011. Mainly weekend nights, a few week nights and one Sunday matinee. Actual show dates on website www.funsidetheatre.com.
